Hello!
I'm Amy Lynn, a photographer and filmmaker based in Coastal Virginia. I'm passionate about capturing those authentic, special moments in life that help tell your story. In fact, telling stories is how I began my journey as a creative professional. I fell in love with photography as a teenager and decided to study communication, art, and photography at George Mason University. For me, this was the perfect combination to learn the art of visual storytelling.
Visual Storytelling
I began my creative career as a studio assistant at Authentic Portrait LLC in Northern Virginia. To say I feel lucky to have worked there is an understatement. I got to work for the most wonderful group of lady bosses a young woman could ask for, and I'm so thankful for everything they taught me. This was my introduction to how to run a successful business. I learned the importance of creating the best experience possible for clients, and I got a front row seat in how to capture those little, authentic moments that tell our stories.
Authenticity
Fast forward a few years and I now work as a videographer for a local school system. I'm part of a team that specializes in marketing and promotional videos as well as teacher resources. When I'm not at my full-time job I love working on DIY projects around my home and tending the flower beds. I love a getaway weekend to the Chesapeake Bay town of Reedville, VA. If I had to describe myself in 3 ways, I'd say I'm happiest when I'm by the water, I'm often found with a cold beer in my hand on the weekends, and I'm passionate about supporting local businesses.
